Thu, 24 December 2009 Welcome to this week's city on a hill radio show. This week we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. God gave us the best example when he gave us his son on earth. He sent the very best he had as a gift for us. I pray we will remember that and with grateful hearts become the very best we can be for him. We in the United States have additional gifts from God as for some reason he chose us to live on this city on a hill. Was it to be successful, comfortable , to enjoy life to the fullest--I would guess it is a lot more than that. The bible saysJesus said not everyone that says Lord --Lord shall enter heaven but he that doeth the will of his father in heaven. Today we are seeing the results of Christians who say they are Christians but in name only--this nation is being upside down because we with ungrateful hearts have forgotten the gift from our heavenly father to be able to choose our leaders so that you and I and future generations can live well. Many Christians choose not to vote God's way and many choose not to vote at all as we saw in the election where a gay mayor was voted in Houston tx because only 16% of their population chose to vote. So she won by only 83,000 votes in a Houston with a population of 2.2 million people. Where were the Christians? And on Christmas eve--it was rather ironic that our Senator were voting for a bill that would make the American people fund the killing of the unborn. If the founders were here--they would not recognize the Country they gave their blood sweat and tears to form based on God's Word for their future generation. Hope each of us will do our part to make sure changes happen in the future that will make this nation go back to the acknowledgment of God who blessed this nation to shine. So as we enjoy our festivities please remember to pray that there be an awakening in the land to get involved in politics because God wants us to have a voice in our government--while there is still time. Please be sure to visit our website www.cityonahill.tv for more info. Hear two men's stories of what happens when Jesus enters their heart. He is the reason for the season and if you are one of those hopeless because you do not know him --I pray you will seek Him and find him and like these men know the priceless meaning of Christmas--When God came down and gave you a gift everlasting. The music you will be hearing is from Christian and Christina helvin.followed by the testimonies of Billy tompkins and Slick. Comments[0] |

Thu, 10 December 2009 Hear an interview with Phyllis Schlafly of Eagle Forum and David Barton of Wallbuilders. The two have love for American history and values in common and stands in the gap for us. Hope you enjoy the show and please remember to pray for our nations leaders, our military and their families, our missionaries, the persecuted church and the families hurting in today's economy. And while we set aside gifts for our loved ones--let us remember to give gifts to the hurting here or abroad and our military. Our website www.cityonahill.tv has a very simple way to give thanks where xerox will print and mail a card with words you choose to our military. It doesn't even take 5 minutes to do--yet to someone who may not get a card it will mean a lot this Christmas. So Merry Christmas to you and your family and May God bless you and shine his face upon you. Comments[0] |
